Mississippi Highway 178, following the former route of US 78, runs through the center of the town. Via US 78, it is 20 miles (32 km) northwest to Holly Springs, 65 miles (105 km) northwest to Memphis, 14 miles (23 km) southeast to New Albany, and 42 miles (68 km) southeast to Tupelo.

As of the census of 2000, there were 565 people, 221 households, and 161 families residing in the town. The population density was 611.5 people per square mile (237.1/km²). There were 242 housing units at an average density of 261.9 per square mile (101.6/km²).
